Weekly harvest report

Each week I like to share my weekly harvest report. Sharing what I've harvested over the last week and seeing what it would have cost.

Weekly harvest report

This week we have harvested the following

  • 14 chicken eggs which would have cost us £3.50 from a shop.
  • 1 cauliflower which would have cost us 43p from a shop.
  • 1 cabbage which would have cost us 69p from a shop.
  • 1kg potatoes 80p from a shop.
  • 250g sprouts which would have cost us £1 from a shop.
  • 150g baby leeks which would have cost us 50p from a shop.
  • 3 small carrots which would have cost 18p from a shop.
  • A selection of herbs and salad leaves as required. We allow £1 for this.

This week's total.

  • This week's total and the final for 2018 is £8.10. A low yield to see the year out with but most of this was for the Xmas dinner. Every year one of my goals is to get as much of the Christmas vegetables from my plot. This year we pretty much had it covered using items in store too.

    • Hi Richard, great that you managed to pick your Christmas dinner! Here’s our weekly harvest report: Not much post Christmas veg picking this week, a modest £35 worth. We picked orange carrots, chard, true spinach, leeks, radicchio, calabrese, broccoli, sprouts and sprout tops, brocollini, lots of types of kale, kalettes and kalette tops, main crop and new potatoes, red and golden beets, spring onions, celery, tomatoes, red-veined sorrel, rocket, lots of bean tops and loads of lettuce. We also raided the store for: onions, shallots, garlic, butternut and crown prince squash.

    • I hope you had a great Xmas Steve. Great harvest again. Let’s hope 2019 is a great year too.
