I have heard about no mow May and it sounds like a great idea to encourage wildlife. I am actually leaving an area of my garden to not be mown -

Yes keep the pots in water the whole time. A saucer or w washing up bowl is ideal, but I will discuss this more in a future podcast as I have a few ideas to share.

Thanks Richard, I’m particularly excited about the next batch of supporter’s club seeds! Hopefully I will get round to sowing them much quicker than I did for April’s, which was er… yesterday for most and this afternoon for the rest!

Hi Richard. Quick query on this months Watercress seeds. Are you saying keep them in pots and place in a deep dish so that one can then water the dish thus the roots growing through the bottom of the pots are permanently in water?
A washing-up bowl may then be the answer if growing a number of pots I guess.

I’ve sowed carrots in between onions and leeks this year, mainly because that it where I had room. I then thought it was probably good companion planting, I’ll see how it goes.
I always sow a lot of marigolds and plant a row of them, their smell is quite over powering which could distract bugs and other pests.
