Aromatic dressed artichokes.
For a while now I have been tying to find a way of preparing artichokes in a way that both me and my wife will eat. Well with these aromatic dressed artichokes I found a way.
Now normally I would share an original recipe and write-up my variation on it however for this recipe I can't find one so you will just have to use my recipe.
Ingredients
4 artichoke
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 tea-spoon chilli flakes
1/2 tea-spoon oregano
1/2 tea-spoon thyme
1 clove of garlic chopped up small
Black pepper and salt
Method
- Fill a pan with water and put on a high heat on the hob and bring to a boil
-
While pan is coming to boil prepare artichokes by pealing away the tough outers, leaving the white flesh.
-
Add the artichokes to the pan and reduce heat to simmer. Summer until the artichokes are tender, about twenty minutes.
-
While artichokes are cooking mix all the other ingredients together in a bowl.
-
Once artichokes are cooked add two tablespoons of the water to the bowl with all the other ingredients. Drain the artichokes and slice them up.
-
Put the sliced artichokes into the bowl with the dressing and cover in the dressing.
-
Serve as a tapas or side dish.
Overall I found this to be a very tasty dish. I liked the flavours and we really liked the artichokes served this way. I also can see there to be plenty of variation that can be done with this such as different herbs and spices.
So give it a go and let me know what you think. Do you have any artichoke recipes you would like me to try, if so get in touch
