The diary
This week on the plot I have visited the allotment every night to do a few minutes weeding. This has really helped me feel like the workload is being reduced.
At home I have been sowing lots of seeds including
- Asparagus pea
- Dill
- Nasturtium
- Marigolds
- Luffa
I have also been pricking out
- Purple sprouting broccoli
- Celery
- Celeriac
Busy time on the plots.
Creating a wildflower/ orchard/ herb garden area
There has got to be a simpler name for this area but I think it says what it is. This is an area of my garden quiet close to my house where we did have many bushes and shrubs growing when we moved into this house.
Last year I came up with an idea for this area which took inspiration from many Victorian gardens I have visited over the years but particularly West Dean gardens in West Sussex.
For me the idea of making my garden mostly edible has always been difficult to get fully under way but in this podcast Italk through how I am acheiving this.
I mention some wildflower seeds that I am using in this area and if you would like more information on this then check out the links below
If you have created anything like this in your garden then why not get in touch
