Weekly harvest report

Weekly harvest report for weeks 26 and 27 of 2019.

Another week and more harvests coming in. More importantly, we have reached halfway through the year. As such in the podcast episode 228, I will be discussing my evaluation of the weekly harvest report so far this year.

Weekly harvest report.

This last couple of weeks we have harvested the following

  • 40 chicken eggs which would have cost us £10 from a shop
  • 14 quail eggs which would have cost us £2.94 from a shop.
  • 1kg new potatoes which would have cost us £1.20 from a shop.
  • 4kg broad beans which would have cost us £6.80 from a shop.
  • 500g strawberries which would have cost us £2.50 from a shop.
  • 1kg raspberries which would have cost us ££14.67 from a shop.
  • 2 small turnips which would have cost us 10p from a shop.
  • 1kg gooseberries which would have cost us £5.00 from a shop.
  • A selection of herbs and salad leaves. We allow £1 for this.

That brings this weeks total to £39.21 and the total for the year to £361.49. Very very happy with this now but I wont go on to much in this as ill save it for the podcast.

From the vegepod

From the vegepod we have harvested the following

  • 500g of salad leaves which would have cost £5 from a shop.
  • 100g mustard leaves which would have cost us £1 from a shop.

That bring the total for the past 2 weeks to £6 and the total so far this year to £48. I did remove the plants that where sown 2 weeks ago in order to sow more which is why the value is high on this time. This is how I have figured a way to get the most out of my vegepod and make it as productive as possible for me.

This weeks spenditure

Over the last 2 weeks I have spent the following

  • £4.99 on a magazine
  • £2.00 on some wood chip for the chickens

That brings this weeks total to £6.99 and the total for the year to £333.71. This means we have now harvested more then what we have spent. I am really pleased with that in all honesty although I do think theres savings to be made.

What have you harvested this week? let me know in the comments or Email me here.
