Wilt

Each week I like to share my understanding of a horticultural word or term. This week I am looking at the word wilt.

Wilt

Sometimes a plant will look droopy and weak. This is known as wilting.

A plant may wilt for a number of reasons. The most likely reason is it is in need of water. Simply give the plant a good watering and it will bounce back. If the plant has just been planted out it may silt too. Again this can be rectified by giving a good watering and it should bounce back. Other reasons may need further investigations as there may be something more serious with the plant.
