weekly harvest report

Each week I like to share my weekly harvest report. Detailing what I have harvested over the last week and seeing how much it would have cost us from a shop.

Weekly harvest report

This week we have harvested the following

  • 14 chicken eggs which would have cost us £3.50 from a shop
  • 500g chard which would have cost us £4.00 from a shop
  • 500g potatoes which would have cost us 50p from a shop
  • A selection of herbs and salad leaves as required. We allow £1 for these from a shop

This weeks total

That brings this week's total to £9. Again a bit lower value this week. However I am really pleased with the chard and how much that is worth. I was cooking a chard and chickpea curry which is why I wanted some chard. Well harvesting fresh chard was really worthwhile and tasty.

What have you harvested this week? Let me know in the comments or Email me here.

  • Chard is great at this time of year, if you can keep the worst of the weather off it! I’ve never seen it in the shops. Here’s our weekly harvest report: volume reduced a bit more, but should be fairly stable now: we harvested £75 worth of veg. We picked: apples, carrots, chard, true spinach, leeks, chicory, broccoli, sprout leaves, brocollini, lots of types of kale, kalettes, potatoes, red beets, golden beets, spring onions, celery, tomatoes, carrots, and loads of lettuce

  • I love chard too. Its so useful and hardy I am surprised its not grown more often for commercial purposes. Smashing harvests again Steve
