Weekly harvest report

Each week I like to share my weekly harvest report. Sharing what I have harvested and what it would have cost from a shop.

This week is a couple of days late due to work commitments.

Weekly harvest report

This week we have harvested the following

  • 3 chicken eggs which would have cost 75p from a shop
  • 1kg tomatoes which would have cost £2 from a shop
  • 3 courgettes which would have cost £1.20 from a shop
  • a selection of herbs and salad leaves as required. We allow £1 for these.

This week's total

That brings this week's total too £4.95. A pretty low week to be honest. I could have of harvested more but with darker evenings and busy work week I did not manage to do as much as I would have liked.

That being said it is good to be getting chicken eggs again although the quails have stopped laying.

What have you harvested this week? Let me know in the comments or Email me here.

  • Hi Richard, here’s our weekly harvest report: we harvested £408 worth of veg. We picked: red cabbage, calabrese, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet corn, kale, kalettes, runner beans, french beans, potatoes, red beets, golden beets, onions, celery, courgettes, tomatoes, cucumbers,Kuri squash, Crown Prince squash, Butternut squash, carrots, lettuce, NZ spinach, Malabar spinach, green and golden purselane, peppers, mixed herbs, apples, pears, strawberries and raspberries. Things will slow down a bit from now on, as we bought in some bulk harvests this week : All the best – Steve

  • What do you do with it Steve when it all comes in at once, can you preserve it or will it store in the usual cool dark dry place?

  • Hi Ian, this is our normal weekly rate of harvest, we are fairly stable at £1000 a month from June until November and we feed 20 people, all close friends and family. The bulk harvests – squash, apples, potatoes, beets – all store well without any processing, although we do dehydrate half of the apples.
