Weekly harvest report.

It's time for our weekly harvest report. A weekly look at what has been harvested from our plots this last week and how much that would cost in the shops.

Weekly harvest report.

This week we have harvested the following.

  • 12 chicken eggs which would have cost £3.00 from a shop.
  • 21 quail eggs which would have cost £4.41 from a shop.
  • Salad leaves as and when we required them. We will allow £1 for this if we had bought a bag from a shop.
  • 1kg of rhubarb which would have cost £6.88 if we had bought this from a shop.

This week's total.

That brings this week's weeks total to £15.29 of which I am pretty pleased with. The highest value crop has been the rhubarb which has just come into season and is really tasty.

What have you harvested this week? let me know in the comments below or Email me here.

  • Hi Richard, we could use some of that rhubarb, we moved all of ours around last year, so it’s slow to get going. Everything stalled on the plots over the last week or so because we had almost no sun.

We harvested 103 litres of veg, or about 100 supermarket veg bags. Carrots, golden beetroot, lettuces, rocket, corn salad, lots of kale, kalettes, red cabbage, sprouts, loads of purple sprouting broccoli, radish, chard, spinach, perpetual spinach, spring onions and pac choi. We relied on the store for red beetroot, beans, onions and potatoes. We bartered for 12 eggs and locally grown greenhouse tomatoes.

    All the best – Steve

  • Wow, Steve you really are growing lots of food and well ahead of most well done.
I’ve been lucky with rhubarb as I have inherited quite a few plants and have lots to use that I think I’ll be running out of ideas.
    All the best
    Richard
