Photos from week 36 of 2017.

Each week I share a collection of photos taken on the allotment or veg patch. Here we have the photos from week 36 of 2017.

Time on the allotment.

Something I was very keen to plant was an apple tree specifically for cider. Originally this tree was planted on my old allotment. I moved it over to my current allotment last year. This year it has produced a really good amount of apples as you can see below. I am hoping to pick these next week and turn into cider.

I am really impressed with how well my pumpkin plants have grown this year. I tried a different approach this year and grew them in compost heaps. As you can see below the plants are spreading all over the place. They also have some decent looking pumpkins on them.

I have also been busy preparing beds for use. The next photo is of the bed that will have garlic planted in a couple of weeks. This bed has been repaired and given a lick of paint. I then covered the ground with cardboard and then covered that with well-rotted horse manure. I tamped this down to make it firm and ready to grow.

I have also been busy building new beds. This is on the newer half of the allotment and is in a corner. The plan is to plant some autumn raspberry canes on one side and move the strawberries to the other side. Although as you can see there is a lot of work to do to get it ready for that.

This week's harvests.

Each week I like to share with you all what I have harvested from the plots. After all the main reason I grow my own is so I can bring back food.

We have a few raspberries. Both red and yellow.

A few more sprouts. My method for growing these paid off this year.

More french beans. I am getting a bit tired of these. However, they freeze well and I am sure will be glad of these during the winter months.

I have more food that I could b harvesting but as I have no space in the freezer, and they store perfectly well growing I have decided to harvest these another time.

That is it for this week. Let me know any comments or suggestions you have on these photos below in the comments. What have you been doing in the garden this week. Let me know below.
